About Mathew Johnston
Mathew, who has been Patti’s spouse for a very long time, is also involved in the entertainment industry. Even though there isn’t a lot of public information available on him, some of his work is listed on his official IMDb page. It would appear that Mathew works as a camera operator for movies and television shows; he was even involved in the production of the critically acclaimed film Wayne’s World (1992), which starred Mike Myers. Tremors, City Limits, and Bad Guys are just a few of the other significant films on which he has worked.
Although the actress does her best to keep her personal life, including her romance, private, she did reveal to The New Yorker in April 2020 that she had to cut Mathew’s hair because of the quarantine. “I trimmed the hair on my hubby. And he thought he looked like Cletus, because I trimmed it, and then I decided, “Oh, I want to do something else.” And he thought he looked like Cletus. Therefore, he has short bangs. In all honesty, I journeyed into the city to get my hair cut and styled. Patti said to the publication that she had a conversation with herself in which she declared, “I’m not going to be depressed and then look in the mirror.”
Their Wedding and Their Children
Back in 1988, when she was performing in Anything Goes in the role of Reno Sweeney, Mathew and Patti entered into a legally binding marriage. A star of the show Thirteen revealed during one of the episodes that she had truly tied the knot on the stage of the Vivian Beaumont Theater. Patti told me that she got married on the stage of the Vivian Beaumont while she was taking a day off from performing in Anything Goes. She referred to the day they got married as “a precious memory in the annals of my family history.”
After they had been married for two years, the couple decided to start a family and gave birth to a son, their first and only child as a pair. On November 21, 1990, Joshua Luke Johnston came into the world to be welcomed by his parents, Mathew and Patti. According to PlayBill, her son also has a career in the theatre and even appeared with his mother during a performance of The Cradle Will Rock in 2014. This took place in 2014.
Patti revealed to the publication that she had no doubt that her son possessed the necessary “discipline” to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. “The only thing I knew about him was that he followed some form of discipline. You either have a bit or you don’t, and there’s no in between. “I guess it’s hard to define or to grasp,” she said at the time. “It’s just one of those things.” “It really is a very private matter. I actually don’t know what Josh’s experience is like in that regard, but I do know what mine was, and one of the things I learned was that you don’t have to wear it. It’s something going on inside of you. I knew that Josh was having a good time at Ravinia [which is a theatrical festival], but other than that, I didn’t really know whether or not this was something that Josh wanted to do.
